OUR PROGRAMS

The Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studio Trophy System is a unique method of dance instruction. Encompassing many facets, the Trophy System is an exciting way for you to gauge your progress in receiving the benefits of dance. The Fred Astaire Trophy System has been approved by the National Dance Council Of America (NDCA) and combined the basic elements of dance to create an exciting new level of social and competitive dance. The Fred Astaire Trophy System has also been redone to include the exciting new levels of Dancesport. Dancesport is now recognized by the IOC and will be included in upcoming Olympic events. The new Fred Astaire Trophy System was put into place by the Fred Astaire National Dance Council which has over 30 United States and World Champion professionals. So no matter if you wish to just become a confident social dancer or a national competitor we have the programs and instructors to help you reach your dancing dreams.

Introductory Program - This program is designed to introduce you to Fred Astaire Dance Studios, how we teach, and what dances you might be interested in learning.

Beginner Program - A great way for you and your partner to learn the basic elements of dance, the different tempos of music, and an understanding of what you would like the art of dancing to accomplish for you. This is the stepping stone in teaching students to become confident and comfortable social dancers.

Social Foundation - After you have completed your Beginner Program, you and your instructor will begin to tailor make a program designed specifically for your dancing needs. This program is designed to solidify the basic elements of your social dances while enabling you to "Hold Your Own" in any given social dance situation. When completed, you will have had an introduction to the various dances, different tempos, whether fast or slow, and the fundamentals of the gentleman leading and the lady following. This program also provides an excellent stepping stone to our next level of instruction - the Bronze Trophy Program.

Bronze Trophy Program - The Bronze Program develops a good social dancer, "a partner in demand". More then 85% of all students move on to the Bronze program, and use it throughout the rest of their lives. Besides learning a wide variety of steps in all the popular dances, students are strengthening their appearance, partnership, and expression. In a short period of time, students gain confidence in their dancing, look extremely poised and comfortable dancing with a partner, while having the time of their life.

Silver Trophy Program - The Silver Program develops an advance social dancer with versatility and style. Students learn continuity styling, which expands their knowledge for competitive-style dancing as well as giving them the opportunity of more graceful movement around the dance floor. Students can dance in any situation, whether it be a relaxing social party using Bronze patterns on a smaller dance floor, or a chance to clear a dance floor by using Silver patterns on a larger dance floor.

Gold Trophy Program - The Gold Program is our highest level of social dancing. Gold dancers are the ultimate of perfection, having an extensive knowledge of dance technique and dance patterns.

Open & Exhibition Programs - An Open or Exhibition program can be used in conjunction with any of our above programs. This program helps our students develop their "dance personalities", while continuing to develop their understanding of dance elements and technique. This additional program is extremely useful to the students, because it builds trust in themselves as dancers, helps them understand the individual dances, and utilizes all the knowledge they have gained through the various trophy programs.

Coaching Lessons - Our coaching lessons, also known as Dance Master Sessions, allow our students the opportunity to work with the top United States and World Champions. The various coaches help our students prepare for a competition, by choreographing exhibition routines, or through their many years of expertise, help students strengthen any areas of concern in their dancing.

Wedding Programs - Make YOUR SPECIAL DANCE be remembered for a lifetime. Step out to the middle of the dance floor being the KING AND QUEEN OF THE DAY. Instructors will help you and your spouse-to-be dance to the song of your choice for YOUR SPECIAL DAY!
